Circa 1825 Antique Federal Chair Tiger/Curly Birdseye Maple
Gorgeous Federal Period Chair
Incredible Tiger/Curly Maple with some Birdseye Maple
Restored to Museum Quality
Hand Restored the Finish with Hand Rubbed Varnish
I sealed the Rush Seat...Rush is fragile on underside, I chose to leave it original & not restore it
A noteworthy detail is the back splat is planed to have a curve which adds great comfort unlike most which are flat & uncomfortable
You will not find a more beautiful display of finely striped tiger maple, I tip my hat to the maker for a fantastic eye & superb grain selection for each & every piece of this chair
I love the ball tip front legs!!
I inlaid a small piece of Birdseye maple on the front top post of the leg to restore a missing piece!
This is an exhibition quality piece, a feast for the eyes, perhaps it is calling your name!!
All the best, Bryan
