I restore fine antiques, when I laid eyes on this table it was love at first site, I search high and low for outstanding pieces, especially hard to find is tiger maple of this caliber. I love tiger maple, this is one of the finest examples you will find of tiger maple
Amazing single board plank top...wonderful character and patina, some worm holes, darker spots etc..
The craftsman who made this did a fantastic job selecting every piece of wood for the perfect work of art, they obviously had the highest standards!
Entire table is solid tiger maple...no veneers
Spider style legs are joined to the pedestal with "sliding dovetails" all hand cut, a sign of high quality craftsmanship
Excellent oxidation of the underside of the top
The underside of the top exhibits hand planing
There is a small cosmetic hairline crack in the support plank edge that secures the top to the pedestal
I restored the finish by hand rubbing many coats of varnish, showcasing the tiger maple
